The Live Well, Age Well course has been co-produced by community members and professionals, to support people to live well as they age.
We can’t stop the ageing process but there are things that we can do now to help us to age well. We can make choices that improve our ability to maintain an active life, to do the things we enjoy, and to spend quality time with loved ones.

During each session we will discuss a different topic relating to living well as we age:
We are living longer and as we age, we experience natural changes in our lives. In this first session we will introduce the concept of Healthy Ageing, and the things we would like to do, or continue to do, as we age.
Regular physical activity and movement are beneficial for us at all ages and small changes now can lead to major benefits down the road. Learn more about how activity can help the ageing process and how we can introduce it more in our day to day lives.
Learn about the things we can do to help us to have enough energy to complete the activities that are important to us.
Some changes to our brain, such as our memory and thinking skills, are a normal part of ageing. Learn about the things we can do to improve our brain health and reduce our risk of developing brain conditions such as dementia.
Eating a healthy balanced diet plays an important role in looking after our own health and wellbeing. Learn about food and hydration as well as supplements to look after our bone health as we age.
Falling is not an inevitable part of ageing. Learn about the things we can do to reduce our risk of falling as we age.
When we think about getting older, we often consider making changes to our own environment. Learn about the things you can do to continue living independently, enjoying your home and managing the day-to-day activities that matter to you.
Goals are things that we want to do that are important to us. Learn about action planning which provides a structure to how we will achieve our goals.
Stress and anxiety are a normal response to difficult or worrying situations in our lives. Learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and the things we can do to manage it.
Sleep is an essential function that allows both our body and mind to rest and recharge. Learn about the things we can do to improve the quality of our sleep to feel more rested and energetic.
The term “mental well-being” can mean different things to different people, generally describing how we are thinking, feeling or managing at particular times in our lives. Learn about things we can do to re-fuel and re-charge to boost our mental well-being.
Staying active and applying the knowledge, skills and confidence we have gained from this course will enable us all to live well as we age. Learn more about how we can continue to progress, develop and sustain healthy habits and look forward to a future of ageing well.
